Melanie Duncan's 1965 Mustang drew lots of admiring glances from those attending the car show which was part of the New Madrid Fall Festival's events on Oct. 5. Duncan's car won trophies for Best Interior and Best Paint while Bryan McCain's 1968 was honored as the Best Engine and Bill Henry's 1978 Ford F-150 was named Best in Show.

Fishing fans filled the bleachers to watch the weigh-in of the catfish caught by those taking part in the Twisted Cat Tournament during New Madrid's Fall Festival. This year's event featured 37 teams from across the Midwest.

The fish caught during the Twisted Cat Tournament were moved into a holding tank before being returned to the Mississippi River. The sight of the large fish drew a large crowd around the tank.
