Doors – only used to open rooms or to close them to keep intruders and noise out, right? The teachers of the Portageville School district also use their doors to hold a Christmas Door Decorating Contest. Administrators from both all of the buildings said they were glad not to be on the committee in selecting the doors. There were several good door decorations in all three buildings. The classroom door winners are, in the high school, First Place – Heather Warren's room with Dabbin through the snow. Second Place is Kellye Fowler's room with “Have your Elf a Merry Christmas.” The third Place honor goes to April Priggel's room. In the middle school, the door winners are Susan Penn's room, First Place with “Gifts of time and Love”; Second Place to Sue Ellen Flynn's room with “Good at being Naughty”; and in Third Place is Angela Riddles room with “Frosty”. Lastly, in the elementary school, First Place goes to Emily Allred's room with “Rocking Christmas”; Second Place to Peggy Boyd's room with “Santa Stuck”, and in third Place is Luella Scherer's room with “Santa Claus”.
