SIKESTON -- There will be plenty do to both on and off Rodeo Grounds this week during the 62nd Annual Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo.

Diehard rodeo fans can enjoy viewing some rodeo action early in the slack but Rodeo gates officially open at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

"The Rodeo will start at 6:30 p.m. with the Grand Entry," said Daniel Beck, general chairman for the rodeo.

All the regular rodeo events from bareback riding to team roping are back with the addition of one special event Wednesday only: bullfighting.

"We're really excited to bring back bullfighting this year -- that's one attraction that people have continued telling us they wanted to see," Beck said.
