BENTON -- A husband and wife have both been jailed for domestic assault.
According to a release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, David L. Dean, 51, and Salina D. Dean, 47, both of Chaffee, have been charged with the Class A Misdemeanor of third degree domestic assault.
Walter said deputies responded to 9 Menz Street in Chaffee at 10:04 p.m. Tuesday after a report of a domestic assault.
The two were separated by deputies and both subjects stated there was an argument because the husband stated the wife was intoxicated. Both said they were assaulted by the other and each had apparent injuries but didn't want to pursue charges against the other.
The release stated deputies observed several items strewn on the floor and what appeared to be blood drops and smears, supporting the statements of a physical altercation inside the residence.
Both were arrested and transported to Scott County Jail. They each remain in custody at the Scott County Jail with bond set at $1,500 cash or surety.
Walter said that it is rare when both subjects involved are arrested, but not unique, and that his deputies will continue to arrest and seek charges on anyone that commits these crimes
