SIKESTON -- A Sikeston man was wounded in a shooting late Thursday in Sikeston.
About 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a call of a subject shot on Monte Circle in Sikeston, according to Capt. James McMillen, public information officer for Sikeston DPS. The caller said the 29-year-old male victim was en route to the hospital by private vehicle. DPS officers responded to the shooting scene and the hospital.
The shooting appeared to have happened in the roadway in front of the victim's house located in the 100 block of Monte Circle, McMillen said.
"The victim said he had just returned home and was outside when he was approached," McMillen said. "The suspect was said to have fired one shot and struck the victim in the right shoulder."
