New Madrid man facing rape and kidnapping charges

NEW MADRID, Mo. - A New Madrid man is facing charges after pulling a gun on a woman and demanding sex.

Larry Donald Daniels, 57, is charged with first degree rape, two counts of armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm and first degree kidnapping according to online court records.

The victim told New Madrid County Sheriff’s deputies that she was in a truck with Daniels when he drove onto a county road and pulled out a handgun. “After Mr. Daniels pulled the handgun on her he told her he would kill her if she didn’t have sex with him,” according to the probable cause statement.

The victim stated Daniels than forced her into the back seat of the vehicle and began to fondle her. The victim asked him to stop and a struggle ensued.

The victim stated she was able to escape the truck however, Daniels chased after her with the handgun and continued to yell he was going to kill her. After the victim was able to convince Daniels to stop his advances, she was taken to her residence.

Daniels is being held in the Mississippi County Jail without bond.
