SIKESTON -- A Sikeston woman was arraigned Wednesday after allegedly assaulting another person with a knife.

Iesha R. Jackson, 19, who is charged with felony first degree domestic assault and felony armed criminal action, appeared before Scott County Associate Circuit Judge Scott T. Horman, according to online court records.

At 1:43 a.m. Saturday, John Tomaszewski with Sikeston Department of Public Safety was dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Washington Street in reference to a disturbance, according to the probable cause statement by Tomaszewski. While responding, DPS communications advised him the female causing the disturbance -- who was later identified as Jackson -- now had a knife.

When Tomaszewski arrived, he said another female was in the yard, yelling and waving him inside the home. When he entered the home, Tomaszewski said he saw a male on the ground holding Jackson down. The man said Jackson was out of control and attacked him with a knife.

The man told the officer Jackson was out the night before and was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He said Jackson came to the residence and began arguing with him and his wife before she pulled a kitchen knife from the dish drying rack and attempted to stab him with the knife several times.

The man said he tried to take the knife from her and finally was able to hold her to the ground. He sustained a puncture wound to his right forearm.

Bond was set at $25,000 cash only, and as of Wednesday, she remained in the Scott County Jail.
