NICEVILLE, Fla. - John Edward Higgerson passed away Dec. 12, 2016, at his home in Niceville at the age of 93.
He was born July 4, 1923, in New Madrid, Mo., to the late Arthur and Nina Johnson Higgerson.
He was married to Peggy Asanomi Higgerson and she survives of the home.
He was an Air Force veteran having served 23 years in the military.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include: one daughter, Doris Nice of Chesterfield, Mo; two grandchildren, Jason and Shannon Higgerson of Florissant, Mo., and Ashley Nice and James Gauvin of Sevierville, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Jackson Higgerson; four sisters, June Miller of Arnold, Mo., Mary Julian of Evansville, Ind., Norma Wilson of Ziegler, Ill., and Alice Powers of Fishers, Ind.; one brother, Frank Higgerson of East Prairie; and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Higgerson of Florissant.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jack E. Higgerson; three brothers, Weldon, Robert and Tommy Higgerson; and three sisters, Mona File, Louise Higgerson and Merlene Mignoron.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Richards Funeral Home. G.L. Keene will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery with full military honors.
