SIKESTON — Margaret Faye Dock, age 80, passed away on March 28, 2020, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 2, 1940, in Matthews, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Hadie and Zola Lomax Cannon.
On July 4, 1958, in Sikeston, she married Buddy Dock, who preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2013.
Margaret graduated from Sikeston High School in 1957. She was a member of Miner Baptist Church in Sikeston and a member of The Order of Eastern Star Chapter 137 in Sikeston. She worked at Sells Nursing Home in Matthews for 21 years. Then she worked at the Standard Democrat for 33 years before retiring in 2017. After retiring, she volunteered at The Christian Academy in Sikeston. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Carri Dock of New Hamburg, Mo.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laura and Barry Brown of Chaffee, Mo., and Tina Dock and Kevin Dewitt of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, Alexis, Ashlyn, Abbi, Andrew, Alec, Audri, Addison and Avery; one great-grandson, Arden.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Shell and Liz Richards.
In response to the COVID-19 and the recent gathering guidelines, a private graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with Mitch Jackson, pastor of Miner Baptist Church, officiating.
A public celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
