HOUSTON, Texas - Nita (Danita) Arlene Ham Bedell, 62, died June 19, 2017, at her home in Houston.
Born July 5, 1954, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., she attended Dexter Public Schools and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 1985. During her adult life, she resided in Sikeston, Mo., Van Buren, Mo., and Houston Texas. Her professional career began in the financial industry, and most recently, she served as a logistics manager in the oil and gas industry. She previously belonged to the Scott County Young Democrats in Sikeston, various professional organizations and was a member of the St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Poplar Bluff.
Survivors include: two children, Shayne Horner of Malden, Mo., and Jamee Gaines of Wynn, Ark.; two sisters, Vicki Bridges of Bloomfield, Mo., and Denise Moline of Houston; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Preceding her in death were her father, Willie A. Ham; great-granddaughter, Olivia Jane Gaines; her mother, Shirley Ham; and J. Richard Bedell.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the memorial service at noon Saturday at Southwest Church of the Nazarene, 801 Boucher St. in Dexter. Bill Burke will officiate.
