Sidney Drummond

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Sidney Harold Drummond, 85, died Sept. 5, 2019, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born May 17, 1934, at East Prairie, son of the late Thurston Bradley Drummond and Minnie Maude True Drummond, he was a 1952 graduate of East Prairie High School. He had lived in East Prairie his entire life where he had served as an alderman and police judge and was a member of the James Bayou Catfish Cookers. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and then the U.S. Navy, and had been employed with Noranda until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of V.F.W. and had attended the Charleston Church of Christ.

On Oct. 19, 1962, he married Janice J. Scott, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann Drummond Colson and Joey Colson of Dogwood; one brother, Larry Drummond of LaCenter, Ky.; two sisters, Lois Edwards and Sue Thresher of East Prairie; and two grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday. Pete Nuthak will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Keith Edwards, Chris Drummond, Clay Eaves, Brent Thresher, Ryan Edwards and Lawson Thresher.
