__Caruthersville at Chaffee__

__Records:__ Caruthersville 1-2; Charleston 0-3 __Series History:__ Charleston leads 44-29-2 __Last Meeting:__ 2013, Caruthersville won 26-18 __Last Week:__ Caruthersville defeated Kennett 22-21; Charleston lost to Dexter 67-14 __Outlook:__ Caruthersville rallied to defeat Kennett last week to earn their first win with the help of a late interception. Running back Daniel Fugate (5-9, 175, sr.) scored two touchdowns and the go-ahead two-point conversion for Caruthersville last week while Rodrick Jones (5-9, 175, jr.) added another rushing touchdown. The Tigers defense looked much better against Kennett after allowing 99 points in their first two games. The normally high-powered Caruthersville offense, led by quarterback Peyton Faulkner (5-9, 150, jr.) has yet to click, averaging just 12 points per game. That may change Friday as Charleston's defense has allowed over 60 points in all three games this season, including 67 last week, the most points the Bluejays have allowed since giving up 67 to Cape Central in 1971. It is the first time ever a Charleston team has given up 60 points three times in a season. While the Bluejays are giving up plenty of points, they have shown big-play ability as Tyler Craig (6-3, 174, sr.) returned two kickoffs for touchdowns last week. As a team though, the Bluejays were held to just 16 yards and two first downs against Dexter.

__East Prairie at Hayti__

__Records:__ East Prairie 2-1; Hayti 2-1 __Series History:__ Hayti leads 40-23-2 __Last Meeting:__ 2013, Hayti won 13-2 __Last Week:__ East Prairie lost to Scott City 46-45; Hayti defeated Chaffee 46-8 __Outlook:__ East Prairie scored 30 fourth quarter points against Scott City last week but that wasn't enough as the Eagles lost their first game of the season 46-45. Points haven't been a problem for East Prairie as the Eagles are averaging 46 points per game. Deverence Jones (5-8, 147, so.) has proven to be a big play force for the Eagles, with five touchdown catches and two touchdown runs on the season. Quarterback Brett Ellis (6-0, 168, jr.) has thrown for 509 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for two touchdowns. Running back Adrian Soto (5-8, 171, sr.) had 93 yards rushing last week and has four touchdowns on the season. The Eagles have allowed 59 points on the season, with 46 of that coming last week. Hayti has been very stingy on defense, allowing 10 points a game this season and just 14 points total the last two weeks. Last week, the Indians forced five turnovers and held Chaffee to just 76 total yards, one week after allowing Charleston just 168 yards. For the season, Hayti has forced 14 turnovers. Offensively, the Indians stay primarily on the ground, picking up 315 rushing yards last week while scoring 38 second half points. The Indians have thrown for 207 yards in three games.

__Kennett at NMCC__

__Records:__ Kennett 2-1; NMCC 0-3 __Series History:__ NMCC leads 23-6 __Last Meeting:__ 2013, NMCC won 40-21 __Last Week:__ Kennett lost to Caruthersville 22-21; NMCC lost to Ste. Genevieve 35-16 __Outlook:__ Kennett must rebound after losing a heartbreaker last week to Caruthersville. The Indians threw a 97-yard pass on their final drive, only to be stopped at the 2-yard line. Kennett threw an interception a few plays later to seal their fate. With starting quarterback Akeem Nelson out for the season, backup Heath McHaney has stepped up admirably. The sophomore has found prime targets in receiver Michael Richmond (6-3, 187, sr.) and tight end Johnie Brooks (6-2, 168, sr.). Junior running back Jahaida Childress is handling the rushing load for the Indians. While the offense is scoring 29 points per game the defense is giving up 20 points per game. NMCC is sputtering offensively, scoring just 22 points the last two weeks. The Eagles threw two late interceptions last week that were both returned for touchdowns just 36 seconds apart as Ste. Genevieve finished with 21 unanswered points. The Eagles turned the ball over five times last week, giving them 14 in their first three games, and only gained 144 total yards against the Dragons. Quarterback J.C. Dryden (5-10, 180, sr.) did connect with Asten Newsom (6-3, 215, sr.) for a score completing 5 of 19 passes. Javarcus Word (5-8, 150, so.) led the Eagles with 51 yards rushing. The NMCC defense only allowed three scores and returned a fumble 57 yards for a score.

__Portageville at Piggott, Ark.__

__Records:__ Portageville 2-1; Piggott 0-1 __Series History:__ Piggott leads 15-10 __Last Meeting:__ 2007, Piggott won 33-7 __Last Week:__ Portageville lost to Malden 54-7; Piggott lost to Marked Tree 28-16 __Outlook:__ Portageville hadn't allowed a point until high-powered Malden scored touchdowns on their first six drives last week, torching the Bulldogs for 54 points. Portageville gave up 460 yards on the ground as they could not contain the Malden speed. Offensively, Portageville's ground attack was held to just 115 yards, led by Daniel McCray who finished with 58 yards on 10 carries. Quarterback Jon Garrett Kellams scored the Bulldogs' only touchdown on a three-yard run. Kellams rushed for 10 yards and threw for 25 yards. Still Portageville is scoring 28 points per game. Piggott opened the season last week with a loss to Marked Tree after finishing last season with a 2-7-1 mark. Longtime assistant Michael Harrell takes over the Mowhawks program that runs an up-tempo spread offense. Junior quarterback Logan Dixon has threats in sophomore wide receiver Bret Fuller and senior running back Bradley Stephens.

__Kelly at Confluence Prep__

__Records:__ Kelly 1-2; Confluence Prep 0-3 __Series History:__ first meeting __Last Week:__ Kelly defeated St. Vincent 20-14; Confluence lost to Gateway 14-12 __Outlook:__ Kelly won their first-ever varsity game last week, knocking off visiting St. Vincent 20-14. The Hawks have struggled to score this season, scoring 45 points in three games. They are led by quarterback Kyle Fitzgerald (6-0, 175, so.) who 7 of 17 for 105 yards last week with two touchdowns. Dalton Huffman (6-3, 175, sr.) and Ethan Faires (6-0, 165, jr.) both caught scores while Fitzgerald also ran for a score. Faires was the leading rusher for the Hawks, gaining 95 yards on 16 carries. Confluence Prep is a charter school out of St. Louis. The Titans have been outscored 87-32 in their first three games, including a 47-6 loss to Kennett on Aug. 30.
