BENTON -- Tessa Johnson bucketed a game-high 18 points as the Lady Hawks flew in the conference win at home over winless East Prairie.

Tori Duenne tossed in 12 points for Kelly (4-1). Logan Ivie grabbed 10 rebounds and added nine points for the Hawks.

Dakota Arnold had eight points to pace East Prairie (0-6).

__Junior High Basketball__

POPLAR BLUFF -- The Sikeston seventh and eighth grade basketball teams swept Poplar Bluff on Monday at Poplar Bluff Junior High.

Sikeston's eighth grade defeated Poplar Bluff 45-29 while the seventh graders won 62-34.

In the eighth grade game, Sikeston (6-0) turned a 16-14 halftime lead into a 30-24 lead at the end of three. The Bulldogs pulled away from there.

Trey Jenkins led the way in scoring with 17 points followed up by Kevin Jones with 10 points.

"I was disappointed with our approach to the game in the first half," Sikeston coach Derek James said. "We were much better in the second half, but we've still got to figure out a way to put a whole game together. Until we do that, we'll continue to have ups and downs throughout games."

__Seventh Grade__

In the seventh grade game, Sikeston (4-4) fell behind 9-0 at the start only to rally to take a 23-19 lead at the half. The Bulldogs ran away with it from there, out-scoring Poplar Bluff 39-15 in the second half.

Payton Howard led in scoring with 21 points followed by Nick Harrison's 16 points.

Sikeston's junior high teams will be in action today when they host Charleston at 5:30 p.m.
