CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Sikeston's Evan Deere led the Sikeston golf team to a sixth place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational at Bent Creek.
Deere finished second overall in individual scoring shaving nine strokes off his score from last year's tournament.
"It's a great accomplishment," Sikeston golf coach Andy McGill said, "especially against the quality of golfers he was facing."
Conner Landers also improved his score from last year's tournament knocking it down from a 110 to an 86.
"That just shows how much he has improved and how much hard work he put into his game over the summer," said McGill.
Rounding out Sikeston's scorers, Kirk Hoggatt finished with a 93, Conor MacGillivray shot a 102 and Ben Murray ended with a 106.
With Deere and Landers heading the team, Sikeston improved 18 strokes from last year's seventh place finish.
