DEXTER - The Dexter Bearcats rebounded from Thursday's loss at New Madrid County Central with an 80-65 win over the Advance Hornets on Friday night at Dexter High School.

Dexter (18-3, 6-0) will host Bell City (18-4, 6-0) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. for the regular season championship of the Stoddard County Conference.

"That's some pretty good scheduling," said Dexter head coach Eric Sitze. "Both teams are undefeated in the conference. It's going to be probably about like the county tournament."

Dexter defeated Bell City by two points in the tournament two weeks ago.

On Friday night, the Bearcats led 24-15 after one quarter and 39-33 at halftime. Dexter turned the game into a blowout in the third quarter with a 29-14 edge.

Dexter led 68-47 entering the fourth quarter.

"We had a pretty good game tonight," said Sitze. "We turned the ball over probably a little bit too much, but overall it was a good effort after playing New Madrid last night. We had another big third quarter on Advance. We came out and pressed real good and caused a lot of turnovers and got some easy buckets."

Dexter was led by Chad Gill's 23 points. Chris Carr added 18 points and Chris Hyten had 14.

Advance was led by Cain Kelley's 17 points, Andrew Jenkins' 16 and Jared Ritter's 15.

Advance played South Iron on Saturday at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.
