I was just wanting to praise the people that are so giving during this Thanksgiving season. If it wasn't for the Salvation Army, all these food banks and the Boy Scouts with their food drive, I don't know what some of these people would do for Thanksgiving. I tell you one thing, the governor and the president don't care. The taxpayers have given their time to fix meals for people who wouldn't have a Thanksgiving meal. They care about the people, even if Blunt doesn't. I guess we'll be paying for his Thanksgiving feast.

Our United States Senator Claire McCaskill, a Democrat, does not believe in earmarks and has offered none. She is the only representative in Missouri that has no earmarks before the Congress of the United States. You should put that out in your editorial instead of saying all senators offer earmarks.

You are right. Senator McCaskill reminded me this week she was one of only 12 senators to offer no earmarks. We commend her and wish more would follow her courageous lead.

This is to the person who wanted to know who had fresh pecans for this year. She can call 748-2442. I have pecans.

I would like to speak out about a certain teacher in our Sikeston Public Schools, no names will be mentioned. When I was a young child a school teacher came up and pinched me and hit me in the back when nobody was looking. She was mean to me and wrote me up for no reason at all. I'm an old woman now and I still remember that mean, old evil teacher from when I was 9-12 years old. You are doing the same thing to my 13-year-old grandson. There's a lot of people who don't like overweight people. My grandson is a little overweight and you don't like him because of that. You may be denying it to the principal, but we know that you are an evil person. One of these days, you'll be found out. Somebody is gonna find out what you're doing to my grandson. You call and talk to his mother and make out like you're an angel. Something is going to happen. You can't by with evil things forever.

This is in response to a Sticky situation. My husband thinks that the bugs that they are talking about in this article is blue crickets.

I was calling about the Sticky situation. The crickets she is talking about are called camel crickets. They're a light tan to a dark brown and they have a humpback appearance. They are usually found in damp areas like logs, stones and crawl spaces, basements and attics. They are nocturnal. They eat anything. They are known to feed on clothes and lace curtains. Females lay eggs in the spring that are hatched around April. They do not chirp. They can become immobile in the presence of a strong light.
