PARMA - One person was injured when a house exploded this morning.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department, at about 8 a.m. an explosion occurred at a residence located at 406 N. Broad St. One person, who was in the house at the time, received injuries, a department spokesman said.
The house reportedly became fully engulfed in flames following the explosion.
The Parma Fire Department responded along with members of the New Madrid County Emergency Medical Services, county Alert team members, New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens and New Madrid County Sheriff investigator Jason Ward.
The state Fire Marshal's office has been called in to investigate the incident as well.
