CHARLESTON - The Charleston Lady Bluejays tennis team started the season off on the right foot with a 9-0 win against Chaffee on Thursday.
In singles play Charleston's No. 1 player Kara True beat Shelby Rice 8-1; Laura Burton beat Stephanie Whitaker 8-1; Kamyia Sager beat Tara Pobst 8-1; Katie Luehmann beat Brittney Koch 8-0; Rebecca Rolwing beat Amber Rhoda 8-0; and Ashley Shands beat Amber Burton 8-0.
In doubles, True/Sager beat Rice/Whitaker 8-1; Burton/Rolwing beat Pobst/Koch 8-4; and Luehmann/Shands beat Rhoda/Burton 8-0.
Charleston will be back in action on Monday when they host Massac County, Ill.
