Bertha Sedrick
DEXTER - Bertha Marie Sedrick, 79, died Feb. 20, 2004, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born Oct. 26, 1923, at Dexter, daughter of the late Ernest and Clara McFarlen Jackson, she was a homemaker and a member of the General Baptist Church at St. Louis where she played piano and taught Sunday School.
On April 29, 1941, at Poplar Bluff, she married Charles A. Sedrick, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1996.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Jackson and Dennis Jackson, and two sisters, Alberta Moody and Beulah Johns.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Rae Sedrick of Crescent City, Calif., and Gregory Allen Sedrick of Hixon, Tenn.; two daughters, Ruth Ann Edwards of Dexter and Rosetta Sue Teague of Warsaw; one stepson, Glen Alvin Sedrick of Poplar Bluff; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Gerald King officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
