SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McClellan celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Jan. 5 with their family.
McClellan and the former Doris Johnson were married Jan. 5, 1942. As part of the celebration, Shakespeare's "Sonnet 116," I Corinthians 13, referred to as the "love chapter" in the Bible and Genesis 2 on marriage were read. A special prayer of thanksgiving and blessing was made by one of their sons to conclude the event.
McClellan was a salesman for the McKnight-Keaton Company in Sikeston and the M. Livingston Company in Paducah, Ky., before his retirement and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Third Army in World War II.
They are the parents of Arthur Edward McClellan of Gallatin, Tenn., Mark Wayne McClellan of Scott City, James Michael McClellan of Sikeston and John Paul McClellan of O'Fallon; one daughter, Diane Marie Hadley of Sikeston; and they also have 13 grandchildren.
