SIKESTON - Earnest A. "Bill" Acord, 95, died Aug. 22, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Feb. 18, 1909, in Greenbriar to the late Burgess Franklin "B.F." and Mittie Frances Jeffries Acord, he was a self-employed farmer for over 60 years before retiring. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
On Dec. 23, 1929, he married Lillian Louise "Lil" Weaks who preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2003.
In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Eugene "Bill" and Joann Acord of Fort Smith, Ark.; one sister, Marie Daugherty of Sikeston; two grandsons, Jimmy Acord of Edmond, Okla., and David Acord of Fort Smith; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Ponder Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Allen Shriver, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
