ESSEX - Harold W. "Bud" "Hubcaps" Chapman, 71, died Aug. 26, 2004, at his home. Born April 16, 1933, in Hunterville, son of the late Clarence and Laudie Garner Chapman, he lived in Essex for the past 49 years. ESSEX - Harold W. "Bud" "Hubcaps" Chapman, 71, died Aug. 26, 2004, at his home.

Born April 16, 1933, in Hunterville, son of the late Clarence and Laudie Garner Chapman, he lived in Essex for the past 49 years. A graduate of Vanduser High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was co-owner of Chapman and Vaughn Fabricating and Steel Supply Co. in Dexter.

On April 16, 1955, in Essex, he married Joyce Griffin who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Harold Chapman of Columbia; two daughters, Carla Taylor of Sikeston and Christy Dorton of Dexter; two sisters, Connie Reece and Mary Stalcup of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Jimmie Trotter of Sikeston will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery near Dexter.
