JACKSON, Tenn. - Dorothy Laverne Conner Wiseman, 56, formerly of Haywood City and Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Aug. 25, 2004, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Born Sept. 17, 1947, in Memphis, daughter of the late Ross Conner Sr. and Roberta Weakley Conner, she was a member of the New St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson. A graduate of Cape Central High School, she retired from Procter and Gamble in Cape Girardeau, after 23 years of service. She was also a member, past matron and past treasurer of Princess Oziel Chapter 101 Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include: five daughters, Tamra R. Nunley of Cape Girardeau and Marthia L. Egson, Catrina A. Evans, Keisha Wiseman and Shanice Wiseman of Jackson, Tenn.; three brothers, Ross Conners Jr. and Ronald Conners of Cape Girardeau and Eddie Conners of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Linda York of Indianapolis, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Saturday until service time at noon at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Johnny Thomas, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
