NEW MADRID - Robert A. "Bobby" Blom, 57, died April 26, 2004, at the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Born Sept. 7, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late Robert W. and Martha Ann Anderson Blom, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and lifetime member of the United Methodist Church in New Madrid. A Shriner and 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of Masonic Lodge 429 AF&AM. Blom was a past member of the New Madrid County Sheriff's Alert Team, New Madrid County Drug Task Force and New Madrid Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He received the 2003 Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award.

On March 25, 1991, in Las Vegas, he married Frankie Brown who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Dan Meeker and Christie and Tim Perryman of Roseville, Calif., and Dana and Nathan Woods of Risco; three sons, Jeffrey Washer of Jefferson City, Barry Cagle of St. Louis and Mike Cagle of Scott City; one sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Terry Wilkey of Greenwood, Miss.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Clements.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home, where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Thompson will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jerry Adams and the Rev. Lynn Quist.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Don Tackett, Dale Hampton, Martin Pazdera, Tim Henry, Horace Cobb, Steve Morris, Monroe Scott and Lloyd Hale.
