ORAN - April Michelle Eftink and Preston Scott Walter are the parents of their first child, a son, born at 3:50 p.m. Aug. 2, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Bret Thomas Eftink weighed 6 pounds, 10 1/2 ounces and was 20-inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Pam Eftink and Rick Eftink of Oran.

Paternal grandparents are Sandy Walter and Scott Walter of Oran.

PORTAGEVILLE - Kenneth Gene and Angela Nicole Spain are the parents of their first child, a daughter, born at 8:35 p.m. Aug. 3, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Hannah Nicole Spain weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19-inches long.

The former Angela Starks, Mrs. Spain is the daughter of Charles and Dianne Starks of Poplar Bluff and is a certified nurse assistant.

Spain, son of Eddie and Brenda Spain of Portageville, is employed by Good Humor-Breyers in Sikeston.

BERTRAND - Amy L. Mercer and Marc Butler are the parents of their first child, a daughter, born at 5:47 p.m. Aug. 4, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Kayleigh Iva Butler weighed 5 pounds, 12 ounces and was 19-inches long.

Mercer, daughter of Darla Farquhar of Bertrand and Louis Mercer of Highlands, Texas, is a college student and is employed as a cashier.

Butler is the son of Mary Humphrey of Marble Hill and Jerry Butler of Indianapolis.

SIKESTON - Larry and Anna Graham are the parents of their first child, a daughter, born at 12:41 p.m. Aug. 4, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. Lauryn Marie Graham weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 18 3/4-inches long.

Mrs. Graham is the daughter of Glenda Childers and the late Troy L. Childers.

Graham, son of Lawrence and Doris Graham, is a construction worker.
