Doris Jackson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Doris June Jackson, 67, died May 8, 2004, in Jacksonville.

Born Aug. 15, 1936, in Kewanee, Mo., she was the daughter of Beatrice Stafford Gist of New Madrid, Mo., and the late Edward Gist.

In 1956, in New Madrid, she married Marshall Jackson Jr. who preceded her in death.

Survivors in addition to her mother include: two sons, Marshall Gregory Jackson of North Carolina and Scott Jeffrey Jackson of Jacksonville; one daughter, Jennifer Larue Taylor of Jacksonville; five brothers, Donald Gist and Bruce Gist of New Madrid, Robert Gist and Larry Gist of Indiana and Timothy Gist of Fort Worth, Texas; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

One great-grandchild preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn, Mo.

Pallbearers will be: Rick Nowell, Tony Gist, Justin Gist, Chase Gist, Eric Kimball and Bud Jackson.
