"Sis" Harrell

GREENWOOD, Miss. - Ellen N. "Sis" Harrell, 90, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died at 2:50 p.m. Oct. 21, 2004, at the St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Born Feb. 21, 1914, in Monet, Ark., daughter of the late John H. and Lula Calhoun Bailey, she lived in Sikeston for many years where she was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ. She lived in Greenwood for the last five years.

On Sept. 3, 1932, at Charleston, Mo., she married Phines R. Harrell who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1998.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Jeannette Harrell of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Robert Harrell of St. Louis and Karen Lea Fratesi of Greenwood; and three great-grandchildren, Lanny Fratesi of Greenwood and Juliana Harrell and Jeana Harrell of St. Louis.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Oda Bailey, Lindsay Bailey, Alfus Bailey and Luther Bailey.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Mo., where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday. Pat Hogan, minister of Shady Acres Church of Christ, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
