EAST PRAIRIE - Scott Fredrick Slaughter, 28, died at 1 a.m. Aug. 27, 2001, at his home.
Born June 27, 1973, in Sikeston, son of Lee DeField Fraley and Sid Fraley of Sikeston and the late Richard Page Slaughter, he lived in Mississippi County most of his life.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston and was a welder with Schueck Steel Company in Blytheville, Ark.
On Oct. 5, 1996, he married Shonna Marshall who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife, mother and stepfather include: one daughter, McKenzie Slaughter of the home; two brothers, Richard Paul "Ricky" Slaughter of Orlando, Fla., and Zachary Fraley of Sikeston; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Dorothy DeField of Charleston; and his paternal stepgrandfather, R.E. Fraley of Matthews.
His paternal stepgrandmother, Rachel Fraley, preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Jon Archie, pastor of Elm Street Baptist Church in Charleston and the Rev. Ed Hankinson, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Scott Glenn, Joe Duenne, Beachie Dean, Patrick Kellett, Bryant Slaughter and David Slaughter.
