SIKESTON - Russell Alberts, 76, died Aug. 27, 2001, at his home.
Born Dec. 16, 1924, in Newark, N.J., son of the late Joseph and Teresa Costanzo Alberts, he was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
A graduate of the University of Toronto, Canada, he earned a master of business administration from Santa Clara University in California. He was a mechanical engineer for Noranda Aluminum for 17 years and was also a lifelong member of the Association of Mechanical Engineers.
On Aug. 19, 1950, at Lachine, Quebec, Canada, he married Theresa VanDette who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Karen Alberts of Memphis, Tenn., and Chris Alberts of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Mike Glaus of Sikeston; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent and June Alberts of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, and Joe and Elizabeth Alberts of Aurora, Ontario, Canada; and three grandchildren, Russell Alberts of Memphis and Joshua Glaus and Michaela Glaus of Sikeston.
One son, Marc Joseph Alberts, preceded him in death.
No visitation is scheduled.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Schneider officiating.
