CHARLESTON -- This special dove hunt will be for physically disabled hunters only. The National Wild Turkey Federation and the Missouri Department of Conservation are providing this hunt. MDC has agreed to set aside sunflower fields for NWTF to hold this hunt in. NWTF has a new branch and it is known as Wheelin Sportsmen NWTF. There will be no charge, or membership required.

The hunt will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Ten Mile Pond Conservation Area in Mississippi County near Charleston.

Participants will meet at the area headquarters as hunters will draw for field spots. NWTF members will assist them to their area.

Hunters will need a hunting license, hunter education certification and migratory bird permit. They also will need to bring their personal items including shotgun and shells.

They may bring a cooler, but alcohol is prohibited. Hunter numbers are limited, and you must be registered to participate.
