Cape Centra handles NMCC

FARMINGTON -- New Madrid County Central suffered its second loss of the season on Friday night, falling 73-37 to Cape Central in the Farmington Tournament.

The Eagles were outscored 17-14 in the first quarter, 19-10 in the second, 24-10 in the third, then 13-3 in the fourth. Ryan Delph did the most damage, leading the Tigers with 20 points. He was followed by Scott Chestnutt with 17 and Alex Ray with 11.

For NMCC, Remond Willis led the way with 10 points.

ST. LOUIS -- The Bulldogs fell to 0-2 with a lopsided loss to host Mary Institute-Country Day School of St. Louis.

Notre Dame fell behind 28-13 at halftime and trailed 46-31 after three quarters. The Bulldogs pulled to within 53-45 late but MICDS won going away.

FARMINGTON -- Jackson's girls team suffered its first loss of the season in the semifinals of the Farmington Tournament.

Jennifer Ferrell led the Indians (1-1) with 12 points. Francis Kalich scored 14 points for the Mules.
