Annie Smith

SIKESTON -- Annie Bell Smith, 85, died Dec. 25, 2003, at Select Special Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Dec. 8, 1918, in Franklin, Ind., daughter of the late Abe and Annie Wheatley Elmore, she had lived in Missouri for over 45 years. She was employed as a private duty child care provider before retiring and was a member of the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.

She was married to George Smith Jr. who survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Goletha Longstreet of Sikeston and Doretha Means of Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Willie Pearl Strickland of Columbia; and eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

One son, Monroe Johnson-Smith, preceded her in death.

Visitation is from noon Wednesday until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston with L.J. Nabors, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
