CHAFFEE -- Charles Mitchel Owens, 37, died at 12:01 a.m. Dec. 28, 2003, at a family home in Chaffee.

Born Oct. 21, 1966, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Floyd Mitchel and Barbara Owens of Chaffee, he was a self-employed disabled truck driver. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the New Life Gospel Center in Scott City.

In addition to his parents, survivors include: two brothers, Floyd Mitchel Owens Jr. of Bell City and Christopher James Owens of Clarksville, Ark.; one sister, Wendy Menz of Bell City; his maternal grandmother, Anna Nanney of Chaffee; and his maternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Jack and Barbara Nanney of Chaffee.

His paternal grandparents preceded him in death.

Visitation is from noon Thursday until time of service at 1 p.m. at the New Life Gospel Center in Scott City. The Rev. Jack Owens will officiate.

Burial will follow at a later date.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
