Marian Stubbs

SCOTT CITY - Marian Midgett Stubbs, 83, formerly of Morehouse and Hazelwood, died May 23, 2002, at her home.

Born June 18, 1918, in Stoddard County, daughter of the late Thomas Wilson and Mettie Pack Midgett, she had worked as an office manager and bookkeeper before retiring. She was of the Baptist belief.

Her husband, Henry Stubbs, preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Gary Carrington of Rocky Mount; one daughter, Terry Sanders of Scott City; one brother, Thomas Midgett of Pittsburgh, Texas; one sister, June Johnson of Eldon; and 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Billy Scheper and Thomas Scheper; one daughter, Linda Murphy; and two great-granddaughters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Wayne Carrington, Bruce Carrington, Mark Morrill, Chris Morrill, Doug Roberts and Don Sanders.

Joe Sanders will serve as honorary pallbearer.
