NEW MADRID - Quick action by workers apparently saved a man trapped to his chin by tons of grain in an accident early Monday. Mike Campbell, 34, of Parma, was apparently checking soybeans in a bin at Cargill Grain Co. when an air pocket caused him to sink in the grain, a spokesman with the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department said. After being trapped for about three hours a suction device enabled rescue workers to remove enough of the soybeans from around Campbell to pull him to safety.
