SIKESTON -- Sikeston's swim team took third place at Paducah on Monday with 374 team points. Paducah took first with 737, followed by Cape's Gator Swim team with 428.
Behind Sikeston, Scott City had 257 points followed by Charleston with 199 and Farmington with 22.
There were several bright spots for the Sharks. Gratten Allen set a new team record in the 9-10 boys 50 breast with a time of 44.51.
In the girls 8 and under class, Amanda Allen won the 25 breast. In the girls 9-10 division, Morgan Fraser took first in the 50 breast, 50 fly, 100 free and 100 individual medley.
In girls 8 and under, Mary Kendig won the 25 fly, 50 free and 100 IM. Mary Liz Klueppel took first in the 25 free, 25 back, and 25 breast races in the 6 and under class.
Dylan Mason won the boys 6 and under 25 back with a time of 30.21.
The girls 8 and under relay team of Emily Bloemer, Amanda Allen, Mary Kendig and Annie Pewitt took first in the 100 medley with a time of 1:58.20.
The girls 8 and under team of Sydney Lambert, Annie Pewitt, Emily Bloemer and Mary Liz Klueppel won the 100 free with a time of 2:35.62.
The boys 9-10 relay team of Gratten Allen, Aahad Khan, Abdullah Said and Jonathan Horton took first in the 100 free with a time of 1:43.57.
Sikeston's swim team will host Kennett, Poplar Bluff, Charleston and Jackson this Saturday at the Jaycee pool.
