ESSEX -- Mr. and Mrs. Rondal Taylor of Essex have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Diane, to Landall Kyle Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Landall Carter of Dexter.

The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Halterman and Juanita Taylor of Essex and the late Vesteen Taylor. A 2001 graduate of Richland High School in Essex, she graduated in 2003 from Jackson State Community College with an associate of applied science degree in computer information systems. While attending Jackson State, she was a member of the Student Government Association, Technology Club and the National Science Foundation. She is employed by Shelton Business Machines in Malden.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Alvie Carter of Parma, Anna Lee Denson of Dexter and the late Oscar "Buddy" Denson. He graduated in 2000 from Dexter High School and received a bachelor of business administration degree with an emphasis in management in 2003 from Freed-Hardeman University. While attending college, he was the editor, sports editor and assistant editor of The Bell Tower, a photographer for The Treasure Chest, a sports writer/photographer for The Chester County Independent and a photographer for the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. He is currently a staff photographer for The Meridian (Miss.) Star in Meridian.

Relatives and friends are invited to the 2 p.m. ceremony Dec. 20 at the Dexter Church of Christ.
