Agnes Leech

EAST PRAIRIE - Martha Agnes Leech, 94, died Dec. 1, 2004, at her home.

Born Aug. 27, 1910, near East Prairie, daughter of the late Joseph Daniel and Ollie Florence roach O'Connor, she was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County. She was employed by the Lyric and Demo Theaters in East Prairie for 36 years and was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie.

On Nov. 9, 1926, she married David Cheston Leech who preceded her in death on May 27, 1969.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Georgia Leech of Beloit, Wis.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorsie and Billy Bradley of East Prairie and Freda and Calvin Farmer of Water Valley, Miss.; one sister, Sally True of East Prairie; and 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, Joe Dave Leech and Jerry Dale Leech; one brother, Claude O'Connor; three sisters, Nettie Rodgers, Kathleen Prayor and Delsie "Tiny" Myrick; and one grandson.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Friday at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday with Martin Lucas, officiating.

Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Tommy Nolen, Justin Harper, Jerry Dale Leech, J.E. Triplett, Bobby Thurmond and Billy Thurmond.
