EAST PRAIRIE - Rosie Elizabeth Taylor, 93, died at 7:45 a.m. Dec. 4, 2003, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 17, 1910, in Obion County, Tenn., daughter of the late James Fletcher and Betty Jane Hite Burnes, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie. She was a school bus driver for the Wolf Island community for many years and helped her husband with farming.
On June 15, 1929, she married Cecil William Taylor who preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1992.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Novelene Taylor of East Prairie; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Harold Tinnon of East Prairie; two grandchildren, Dennis Allen of Wickliffe, Ky., and Sherri Taylor of East Prairie; three great-grandchildren, Chris Allen of Wickliffe, Shana Riepe of Bandana, Ky., and Justin Harper of East Prairie; and one great-great-granddaughter, Haley Faith Allen of Wickliffe.
Five brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday with George White, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be: Gene Hall, Ronald Hall, Leonard Baker, James Haines, Frank Bourland and Roy Wilburn.
