Jennye Wedeking

SAN DIEGO - Jennye Lee Whitehead Wedeking, 70, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 4, 2003, at the Grossmont Hospital in San Diego.

Born Nov. 3, 1933, at Adams, Tenn., daughter of the late William C. and Lucy Pauline Farmer Whitehead, she was a graduate of Charleston schools and member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston. She lived in San Diego for more than 50 years.

Her husband, James Russell Wedeking, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David and Leslie Wedeking of San Diego; one daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Robert Mendes of San Diego; nine brothers, Charles D. Whitehead of Jefferson City, Mo., William C. Whitehead Jr. of Emporia, Frank Russell Whitehead of Richmond, Va., Arthur Jesse Whitehead of Memphis, Tenn., George Irvin Whitehead of Olean, Mo., James F. Whitehead of Wyatt, Mo., and John David Whitehead, Benjamin A. Whitehead and Robert A. Whitehead of Charleston; two sisters, Carla Jo Knaup of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Nancy Risko of Stillwell, Minn.; and three grandsons.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery Carl Wedeking; one brother, Richard W. Whitehead; and one grandson, Carl Robert Mendes.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
