BENTON - A Georgia woman arrested Dec. 20 at a motel in Miner for fraudulent use of a credit device is now wanted for murder in Georgia.

Lt. Jerry Bledsoe said the Scott County Sheriff's Office received numerous felony warrants Monday from Gwinnett County Georgia, charging 18-year-old Malaika M. Hunt of Norcross with murder, aggravated assault, motor vehicle theft and financial transaction card theft.

Hunt is accused of murdering Vernon Alderman, a resident of Norcross, Georgia.

Hunt was charged in Scott County with fraudulent use of a credit device related to the use of the murder victim's credit card.

Scott County Sheriff Bill Ferrell said Georgia authorities alerted authorities here last Friday that the victim's credit card was being used in this area. The suspect was tracked to a motel in Miner where she allegedly used the victim's credit card. Officers with the Scott County Sheriff's Office, Miner Police Department, and Missouri State Highway Patrol took Hunt in to custody without incident.
