SIKESTON - The Scott County Central Bravettes improved to 13-3 on the season by whipping Neelyville 80-17 on Monday.
Scott Central led 24-7 after one quarter and blanked Neelyville in the second quarter to lead 38-7 at the half.
The Bravettes had four players in double figures led by Brittany Peet's 22 points. Brittany Godwin had 19 points, Janet Penrod had 17 points and Trice Johnson added 10 points.
Scott Central will host NMCC on Monday at 6 p.m.
The Scott Central junior varsity beat Neelyville 57-20.
BENTON - The Kelly Lady Hawks basketball team won their eighth straight game as they handled St. Vincent 70-48 on Monday at Kelly High School.
"They girls played hard and played as a team," said Kelly coach Rod McQuerter.
Kelly (14-1) was led by Kelly Essner's 26 points. Mindy Robert followed up with 17 points.
Kelly will play at Dexter on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
SIKESTON - The Sikeston ninth grade basketball team fell to 3-10 on the season with a 43-38 loss to New Madrid County Central on Monday at the Field House.
Sikeston couldn't overcome a sub-par performance from the free throw line as they were just 4-of-20 on the night.
Sikeston led 10-9 after one quarter but NMCC took over after that, leading 18-17 at the half and 28-24 after three quarters.
Sikeston was led by Tommie Strong's 11 points and Stephen Jackson's nine points.
NMCC got 11 points out of Lance Price and nine from Darrence Perkins.
Sikeston will next compete in the Jackson Tournament Wednesday.
