SIKESTON - Sam Harbin, president of the Delta Community Concerts has announced that the association has changed the date of the first concert to Saturday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. The performance of Benno and Sylvia Raabinof promises to be one of the outstanding music events of Sikeston's history. The duo, Benno playing the violin and Sylvia on piano, have been acclaimed for their fine interpretation of the greatest classical music as well as for their sympathetic performance of the best of our contemporary composers' works.
SIKESTON - An audit of the 1982 Community Development Block Grant Program for Sikeston was approved Thursday afternoon in a special meeting of the Sikeston City Council.
CHARLESTON - A benefit gospel singing for the Amos Johnson family of East Prairie has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at the Charleston National Guard Armory. The singing will feature The Pullen Family, Renewed Heart, Brent and Christy Horton and the Promised Landers Quartet. Donations will be taken at the door.
