Audy Powell

SIKESTON - Audy Powell, 85, died at 4:40 p.m. March 7, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Feb. 13, 1917, in Portageville, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Preston Pitts, she was of the Baptist belief.

On Sept. 22, 1934, in Caruthersville, she married Vernon H. Powell who preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1986.

Survivors include: two sons, Doyle Powell of Sikeston and Larry Powell of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Donnie Bevill of Leesburg, Fla., and Joyce Lambert of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Two sons, one brother and one sister also preceded her in death.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Jerry Hickson of Halls, Tenn., will officiate.
