PADUCAH, Ky. - Ralph Waldo Cossiart, 89, formerly of Bloomfield, Mo., died Nov. 8, 2003, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Born March 3, 1914, in Bloomfield, son of the late Albert and Lura Huggins Cossiart, he lived in Paducah for the past 25 years. He retired as a superintendent of bridge construction and was a member and deacon emeritus of the First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church in Paducah. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was the recipient of three Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Merit Unit Service Insignia.

In 1953, he married Mary Bornemann who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Nancy Whitley of Rock Mount, N.C.; one sister, Ruth Wilson of Bloomfield; and one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Tuesday until service time at 11 a.m. at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The Rev. Dan Masden will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Rock Point Cemetery near Bloomfield.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church in Paducah.
