SIKESTON - Jose Guadalupe and Maria Magdalena Vasquez are the parents of their first child, a daughter, born at 9:31 p.m. Oct. 14, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Brenda Sofia Vasquez weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21-inches long.

Mrs. Vasquez is the former Maria Alvarez, daughter of Rosa Torres Herra and Luis Alvarez of Mexico.

Vasquez, son of Maria Guadalupe Alvizo and Jose Guadalupe Vasquez, is a cook at El Tapatio.
