DEXTER - William D. Walker, 96, died Dec. 28, 2004, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter.
Born Nov. 17, 1908, at Gainesville, Ark., to the late Charlie and Ethel Penny Walker, he was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Sadler's Chapel Methodist Church in Dexter.
On Feb. 13, 1931, in Piggott, Ark., he married Geneva Glassgow, who preceded him in death on July 16, 1997.
Survivors include; two sons, William Jerald Walker of Crown Point, Ind., and Charles Allen Walker of Dexter; three daughters, Betty Lou McBride of Dexter, Dorothy Sue Issacs of St. Louis and Carolyn Marie Dube of Columbia; two brothers, Frank Walker of Dallas and Ellis Walker of Detroit; and 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Prentis and Hayes Walker; and one sister, Lena Catherine Walker.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Thursday until time for services at 2 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Wendy Downing will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
