HAMILTON, Ala. - Joe Billy Parker, 78, and his wife, Ophelia Sue "Susie" Parker, 71, died Dec. 22, 2004.
Born Oct. 28, 1925, in Mississippi, son of the late Jasper John and Eula Elizabeth Harris Parker, Joe Parker died at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Born April 28, 1933, in Mississippi, daughter of the late Flavous Forrest and Lillie Palmer Huddleston, Mrs. Parker died at their home. She was of the Baptist belief.
The couple is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Earnest B. and Imogene Parker of Nauvoo; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joan Leslie and Robert Bell of Eagle Lake, Fla., and Beverly Sue and Billy G. Edgar and Elizabeth Joyce Parker of Marston, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren, Kimbly Nicole Hopkins, Wesley Allen Creasy, Joseph Nathaniel Parker, Abigail Suzzane Parker, Jennifer Adreanna Parker, Erika Allison Parker, Cameron Alexander Parker, Jeremiah Lucas Parker, Bradley Derek Parker and Susie Lynn Palmer.
They were preceded in death by one daughter, Nona Q. Parker; and one granddaughter, Bridgett Leslie Palmer.
A combined funeral service was held Sunday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Ala., with Dewayne Satterwhite officiating.
Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at the Portageville (Mo.) Cemetery.
DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville was in charge of local arrangements.
