Jerry Mansfield

BELL CITY - Jerry F. Mansfield, 65, formerly of East Prairie, died at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 12, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 26, 1938, near East Prairie, son of the late Charles Raymond and Ruby Bowles Mansfield, he lived in Colorado Springs, Colo., for many years, where he was retired from the U.S. Air Force, and later moved to Akron, Ohio. He was also a retired postal carrier.

Survivors include: one son, Jerry F. Mansfield Jr. of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Renee Mondragon and Donna Mansfield of Colorado Springs; one sister, Lula Maestas of Bell City; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Alvina Rae Mansfield; and two brothers and five sisters.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Joyce Palmer and Mike Abbott will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
