CHAFFEE -- Lowell D. Spane, 85, died at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 14, 2007, at his home. Born Aug. 10, 1922, in Marquand, to the late J.O. and Essie Sitze Spane, he retired in 1987 from Southeast Missouri State University where he had worked in maintenance of heating and air conditioning. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of Bell City Masons and the General Baptist Church of Chaffee where he served for many years as a deacon and trustee...

CHAFFEE -- Lowell D. Spane, 85, died at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 14, 2007, at his home.

Born Aug. 10, 1922, in Marquand, to the late J.O. and Essie Sitze Spane, he retired in 1987 from Southeast Missouri State University where he had worked in maintenance of heating and air conditioning. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of Bell City Masons and the General Baptist Church of Chaffee where he served for many years as a deacon and trustee.

On Feb. 7, 1943, he married Juanita M. Crowe who preceded him in death on Juan 11, 1991.

Four brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Lowell G. Spane and Randy Spane of Chaffee; one daughter, Janet Wessel of Chaffee; one brother, Truman Spane of Park Hills; one sister, Pearlene Wagoner of Perkins; and 12 grandchildren and 14 great-

grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled at 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Vyron Yount will officiate.

Burial with full military rites will follow at the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
